Paper Piecing

Hey Guys,

Who knows how to do paper piecing? My block isn't until August but I am already thinking of some ideas. I don't know how to paper piece myself but plan to learn soon.

  1. I haven't learned paper piecing yet either but I do want to learn. I was hoping that there would be a class during the spring session that uses it so I could sign up.

  2. I taught myself how to paper piece and was not happy with it! It was lumpy and not real run to work with...But then I took the papers out and realized...hey, I did it and it is so perfect! If you get a chance to take a class, jump in and try it. I think you would be surprised at how accurate and easy it really is. I did @ 30 paper pieced animals for a friends baby quilt and they turned out very well. (I work weird hours and it isn't always a good time to take classes so I have learned by doing a lot of reading and watching Alex Anderson, from basic quilting skills, short cuts and new techniques. It isn't always the best way to learn, but sometimes you gotta do...)

  3. It would be similar to foundation piecing on muslim right? I did that when I made my chicken pincushion.

Oh if it's the same I like it I like it!

And I just spent some time looking at paper piecing patterns. I like it.

  5. My sister in law has done it and tried explaining it over the phone-but it didn't sink in to me. But, I'm up for trying anything, this is such a great way to learn new things, and since I'm a newbie quilter, everything is new!

  6. I found an excellent tutorial on the sarcastic quilters site. Click on this web page, it's very thorough and good. http://sarcasticquilter.blogspot.com/search/label/Tutorials
