disappearing nine patch/four patch

Hi fellow disappearing nine/four patchers.

Elaine, your fabric arrived here in Sydney yesterday, and your blocks will be winging their way back to you in Texas shortly. Click here to get a sneak peek and read about what fun I had!

Really, it was!
cheers, Kate

  3. 3rd cheer for you, Kate! those blocks look fabulous. I am more than slightly out of my comfort zone with this stuff- I have always been a garment seamstress-but the learning is what makes it fun. I'm in Ohio this weekend, but hope to get my stuff sewing this coming week!

  4. Oh my goodness Kate, those are great! I do love them, Lizzie knows me well! It really doesn't matter if the little points are perfect, or if the seam is straight. I want something that appeals to me, and you, sister quilter, have achieved that. I am excited to send little pieces of cloth to the other side of the world and get something back that can go into a quilt, just for me. I have all sorts of anxieties about going beyond my level of comfort. I think this virtual quilting bee places each one of us outside our levels of comfort and this is how we grow. I'm just hoping my growth spurt goes vertically, my backside is big enough, thank you very much! So relax Kate, you are right where you are supposed to be, a thread or two away from your comfort level. And I do love what you have done and will be so proud to put them into a quilt, just for me. Thank you~~Elaine

  5. Kate, your blocks are beautiful..you did a great job on them.. Isn't that fabric wonderful to work with? I loved it. Elain picked some great colors! I think your block with the extra cut would make an interesting block too. you should sew it together and post it... you may have invented a new technique that we will all want to try!LOL
I can hardly wait for my turn.
